As Well………..

We have been infected with an insidious speech-crutch that permeates seemingly every act of reporting and commentary…try to listen to almost any dj or tv talking-head without hearing the mindless addition of the sinister 2 words “as well”…I’ve heard some people use this useless prop 3 or 4 times in one train of thought…at home, it’s become our latest ‘drinking game’…while watching tv, everytime those two tagalong words are tossed on to the end of a sentence, we take a drink…many nights we’re forced to go to bed early…I’m pretty sure the offenders don’t even realize that they constantly utter the annoying phrase, it’s just become part of the pattern of their speech..it’s especially irritating when a sentence clearly ends, then…after a pause…(here it comes)…”as well”…

I know I’m probably in the minority here but soon, if this continues unstopped, ”as well” will reach epidemic proportions and any semblance of intelligent conversation will cease to exist, and our vocabulary will be significantly reduced, as well……..

rats….

Wondering….

Does anyone know a quick, easy and safe way to cure a head cold?!

We’re not in Kansas anymore…

Wow, time flys when you are having fun and unfortunatly I haven’t written in a while…sorry about that  : )

When you think of Summer you think of certain things such as Cook-outs, Vacations, Baseball games and various other things. Well when I think of Summer not only do I think of that stuff but also Thunderstorms!!  When I was a kid I was scared to death of them, but now I am glued to the window when one hits.

At the beginning of spring/summer I kept saying I want  thunderstorm(s) to hit my hometown (nothing to severe), and let me tell you, as of recent I have to say my love of them has dwindled into annoyance with the daily occurance of Thunderstorms.

I have officially learned my lesson…”becareful what you wish for”.   You would think I would have learned this when I was at school at SUNY Oswego. I kept wishing for snow and it wouldn’t snow…finally about 2 days into the Spring semester it started to snow and didn’t stop!!  5feet of snow, a really bad case of cabin fever , 2 1/2 days later..I trecked out the student parking lot in hopes to find my car again all the while mumbling to myself…be careful what you wish for!

Obviously I am not to blame for the millions of thunderstorms rolling through the area, but I have to say I feel slightly guilty wishing for them..haha and once again I learned my lesson!

   Talk to you all soon!!

REALITY WHAT?!?!

I have to admitt, as much as it pains me to….I Becca…am a reality show junkie…(gasp). Like many people. I spend hours watching this crap, for what reason I couldn’t tell you..lol. I mean right now I am watching the Flavor Of Love marathon with FFFLLLLLAAAAVVVOOORRRRR FFLLLLAAAVVVVV or however that goes.

I mean it makes me wonder that 1- people are that desperate for love and admiration that they need to go on a competition on national television with a guy 2 times older than most of them and slobber all over him…eww haha I don’t know about all that business.

The other point that makes me wonder is, are you that desperate where you need to throw yourself in that situation to get your 15 minutes of fame?!   haha if you are really that desperate put up a movie on youtube, look at that guy who sang Chocolate Rain, he recieved a lot of exposure, and if you think you are as good as you think you are…you probably could to.

Now, a lot of you are probably thinking “well Bec why are you watching it if you think so negative of it”. Well the answer is simple it is very addicting. It’s almost like a trainwreck, you know it’s bad to watch and you shouldn’t buuuuttt yea you just can’t help it, hence why I am watching good old flavor flav.

Granted, not all shows are like good ole Flavs, like the Hills and Real World. Now I used to watch The Real World  and used to enjoy it, but now I feel that the concept has gotten a bit old after so many seasons, they provoke soooo much drama it’s ridiculious. You just know it’s to the point where the staff is talking  the characters up on the side.  The same thing with the Hill’s, at first good old LC and Heidi going at it, and well we have all gotten in it with friends and departed the friendship, but come on how much more drama between the two can America take?! other than their backstabbing hijinxs towards each other, there is also what bar should we fly to in Vegas to party at, When should we take our 20th vacation this year and go snowboarding and omg my BMW is dirty…blah blah blah worry about something that matters.  I mean I used to be hooked on the show at first  but, the novelity wore off and now I feel if you have that much drama in your life you should probably move far away and start fresh.

I have to say with my gripe of reality shows, there would only be one I would be on and that would be The Amazing Race. I find that show to be very interesting people have to out smart each other, and have to use the old noggin to get around the globe on clues and conquer physical and cultural challenges in a certain area of the world.  You get to travel the world  granted you don’t stay very long in a particular spot, you still get to see it and say you were atleast there.

Well I think thats enough out of me today besides I need to go seek some reality and go to the gym..yikes!

        Talk to you all soon!!!

PS: I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE HAVE ASKED…A PICTURE IS IN THE WORKS I PROMISE : )

Kickin’ up my feet….

Tonight was a busy night, did a bunch of errands and then went and had some good old Family bonding time.

Later after dinner (family bonding time) My mom and I decided to go get mani’s and pedi’s, and let me tell you it was just what the doctor ordered.  It gave my mom and I time to catch up and also allowed us both just to sit back and relax for a little bit and be pampered : )

Spending tonight with my parents was definitly awesome, granted I see them everyday but with thier work schedules/social schedules and my up and down social / work schedule sometimes it’s impossible to sit, talk and relax with them, unfortuantly as of recent it has turned into a “Hi….Bye” conversation when I see them.

So sitting down and catching up and having a good laugh is just what you need sometimes.

Well thats all I have for now!!

     Talk to you all soon!!!!

Tis the Season!!!

Well as you know we have a four different season here in NY, they are Fall, Winter, Preconstruction and construction (I know I know I am sure you have all heard of that one before)

Well, I say that for a reason there is nothing like driving down the highway or rural road on the way home, sun shining, windows down music up singing away and then all of a sudden BOOM!! You are stuck about 20 cars deep in a construction gridlock.

Unfortunately, like many motorists today, that was my commute home, now before I go on I need to make it clear that I have nothing against construction workers themselves and I also understand that construction must happen to maintain and rebuild roads to make it stronger better and safer but unfortunately as patient as I usually am, for some reason this just gets me going.

As I sat there waiting, at first it didn’t bother me and I continued singing along to the music and enjoying the sun shining afternoon, Well after about 5 minutes that silly little thing called boredom set in and I started to notice the fumes from the tractor trailer I was stopped behind were seeping into the car and as we all know, it’s very unpleasant. I also started to realize there were no longer cars coming through the one way passing area, and haven’t been for a while, or so I can tell seeing there was a massive truck in front of me, therefore I figure the end is near and we would be moving soon. Granted, I have been known to be wrong before.

So as I find myself getting more and more antsy I start switching stations just to find something that will occupy me for a few more minutes, well it seemed that all I could find is commercials, hostile, upsetting or already been played 5 trillion times songs (go figure) so I turn off the radio and suddenly had a green moment and consider walking the remaining 6 miles to my house, figuring somehow I would get there faster (it was the fumes I tell you)

Well after about 15 minutes the agony is over and the line starts to move, as I approach the actual construction site, I expect to find a small city half constructed seeing it felt like I was there forever, but I find one guy working, 2 holding the slow down signs, and the other 4 milling and watching the sign guys, maybe they are in training, I can’t be sure.  I just wave and smile just happy to be moving, in hope that the next time I stop like this I will be in my driveway.

Granted, I do not have anger problems or anything like that and I especially have nothing against constructions workers, I give them a lot of credit standing out there in the heat, rain or whatever the weather has in store, but there is nothing like being stuck in traffic inhaling exhaust on a warm spring day…Haha here’s hoping for clear sailing tomorrow!

    Talk to you all soon!!
