I’m working on a fundraiser for Spay and Neuter Syracuse, SANS! They are a low cost spay and neuter clinic helping reduce pet over-population in Central New York. So far they have altered over 4,000 cats and dogs!!!!!

I need people to come to “Pawcasso”, our largest annual fundraiser! This a a silent auction of art by, for and about animals being held at the Palace Theatre on James St in Syracuse. Stop by from 6-11 pm, Friday Feb. 27th! Your $10 donation at the door enters you into a drawing for a sterlng silver paw print necklace made for SANS! We also have gift baskets with wine, trips, pet products and more available as raffles and silent auction.

 I have to say with working in radio I am fan of all music, but I have to say enough is enough!!

   If hear Beyonce songs “If I Were A Boy” or “Single Ladies“  or Taylor Swifts song “Love Story“  I will probably rip my radio out of my car and just deal with the silence!   At first  I absolutly loved both of these songs but now that Beyonce gets played back to back on all of the stations, even when you change the station from a Beyonce song the other stations are playing one! Come On!!!

   Taylor Swift is the same way..there was one time I managed to hit the same song, just at different parts of the song on three different stations, including a country station!  SHe has honestly become the female version of kid rock with her songs, AC/POP  enough to be over played on certain stations and then “Country” enough to be overplayed on all the Country stations… ggrr

Oh well…atleast you can always count on some good old classic rock to easy your mind!

Saturday I found an old plastic container of colored pencils and markers.

I sharpened every pencil and found a drawing pad, and started coloring!

I drew a few necklaces, a country cabin, birds and other doodles. It’s so relaxing.

Pick a color! I love suggestions!!!!! I’ll post what I draw with your color!

Please forgive me, I have to vent or rant, either way, here goes….

Why would a talented singer with a great career, beautiful girlfriend and all a guy could want freak out and smack her around on their way to an award ceremony where they both were about to perform? Because he witnessed abuse as a child. Sad. He is not the first and won’t be the last.

Lets all try to be a little nicer to each other, a little sweeter to your partner, a little more thoughtful and say good morning with a smile a little more often, our children might be watching….I’m going to try a little harder too.

I like to play tennis, racquetball, squash (basically a version of racquetball with a smaller ball and a longer racquet), badminton, etc.  Anything where I can chase a ball around.  My friend Bob thinks I’m basically a dog.  He may be right.  That’s all my dog Bogey wants to do.  He’ll chase a ball all day if you keep throwing it.  And I don’t know when to stop chasing a ball around a court.  Kind of pathetic.  After all, I’ll be 50 this year.  That’s about 7 in dog years.

  So yesterday was like any typical day, get up work and do my thing. It was when I got home that it all changed….

    When I got home I realized that I couldn’t park in my own driveway seeing I completely forgot that we were having all the pipes in my house redone! So a little aggrivated I parked on the street, assuming it was the right side seeing thats where everyone else was parked!

    I mope into my house only to find that the kitchen and both bathrooms are ripped up and there is no water what so ever!!  With that fact I decided I have seen enough  demolition and went up to take a quick nap..a daily afternoon ritual.  I get upstairs the guy working on our bathroom up there is no where to be found, happy with that I fell asleep..about 20 minutes later I awoke to the sound of the worlds biggest drill tearing through my house!

   Fusterated I gave up…moped downstairs to only realize when I looked out the window, my car was in the process of getting a parking ticket seeing I was on the wrong side of the road. Go figure…grrrrr..lol

   Having enough I just left the house…went and got my nails done and went to dinner with a friend, and I have to say I am glad I left the house seeing my friend is involved with Karate  and he took me with him last night, and I have to tell you it was a lot of fun and I am glad I went.  I think it will be a new activity for me..

   well today is looking better already I was just informed we will have running water back in our house today…Yay!

Sad news today. I just heard that Billy Powell, keyboardist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, has passed away. He was 56. Lately, I’ve been struck with the sobering reality that despite our best intentions, I’m seeing more and more guys my age facing the inevitable, sooner than we’d like. From a favorite local musician who just had a brush with Prostate cancer, to another with serious heart problems…music has kept our lifestyle and outlook young, but it can’t prevent time from ticking. That said, none of this will prevent me from playing basketball with a steady group of friends every Friday night. …and hopefully tossing in the winning walkaway 3 point shot. Unlike the Ramones tune, I DON’T wanna be sedated….(but I’ll leave the snow in the driveway to my plow-guy..)

As many of you know I love movies. Most of my collection is on VHS! It doesn’t skip and you can fast forward without that annoying red block thing that forces you to read the FBI warning, blah blah blah….

Just picked up “Moonstruck” I forgot how great that was. Cher, Nic Cage, Danny A and more….great cast… great story… maybe it’s just they italian theme…
